Sandy Creek Public Schools

🥪 Oh no! Ms. Calderon doesn't know how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!

Thankfully, our kindergartners stepped up in Computer Science this week. To learn the importance of giving clear, specific directions, the class took on the challenge of guiding Ms. Calderon through the recipe. They learned that "put peanut butter on the bread" isn't specific enough, practicing how to break down tasks into exact sequential steps. Great job to our future programmers! They even were able to enjoy a sandwich.

(P.S. Ms. Calderon successfully survived the lesson and does, in fact, know how to make a sandwich!) 😉

🌟 Girls Who Code has officially kicked off! 💻✨

Our coders had an amazing time at their very first meeting! Girls Who Code meets after school to foster a love for STEAM fields, build confidence, and forge strong new friendships along the way. With two sponsors we are able to split into two smaller groups.

We can't wait to see all the incredible projects and connections this group builds this year! 🚀🤝
